The term "organic" is used very inflationary nowadays. However, in Austria there are clear guidelines and requirements for a farm to be certified. We have received this special certificate every year since 1994 and are proud of it!
To explain: The guiding principle of organic farming is to obtain the highest food quality through the careful use of nature. In practice this means:
- Doing without synthetic chemical pesticides and fertilisers as well as genetic engineering.
- Use of exclusively natural fertilisers
- Ensuring species-appropriate animal husbandry and feeding only with organic fodder
Organic farming is carried out according to clear, legally prescribed guidelines. Compliance with these guidelines is checked at least once a year by independent inspection bodies.
